I took a leisurely ride through Ellett Valley today, most of it below the speed limit. I started into a corner at about 40 mph and discovered that it was a decreasing radius turn, and downhill. And there was a car coming. To keep my line I leaned over, and then some more, and then some more, and then scraped the right peg for about a two seconds. My tires cleared the car by two or three feet. Yeehaw:squid

That was dangerous.

I had done that route plenty of times in the past, and I had no memory of a tight corner like that one. The problem was that I usually do it the other way, so that corner is an uphill, increasing-radius turn.

damn those decreasing radius turns! And those right handers and down hillers! haha

for some reason im just more comfortable going up hill (so the engine will slowly me down as opposed to breaking)

Going left (so Im not applying pressure to the throttle grip....I do pull on the left as well so its just a mental thing)

And increasing radius turns because they are just fun riding, but if these were my only checks for a good ride I would be doing circles all day.

SO BRING ON THE TOUGH ONES! :thumbsup Helps improve the skills as well

Well, you now know how much you can lean.

I literally suck at right hand turns, I tend to delay the entry and don't lean enough, so I have to slow down. I guess it's common for right handers to turn left easier, as all my mountain bike friends felt the same.

Geez, be careful out there, Sundog!

I hit the Parkway on Saturday; was wondering if you were out as well.

(My Parkway pics are nowhere near as good as your Skyway pics.) :(

NIIIICE! Now just remember you can lean that far and get away with it and see how much more fun the corners will be! But the car thing, yeah, that was some madness. Glad you held the lane man.
