Just in case people are interested, here is an email I received regarding a riding clinic that Code will be teaching this weekend.

I think my FZ-6 friend and I will bee there.

Enjoy!

-------------------------------------------

Hi, I'm super excited!

So, the November 8, 2009 "Doc Wong Riding Clinic" will be a very
special one indeed!!

It's a done deal...Keith Code is confirmed!!! E-mail me at Docwong@aol.com
NOW! to get on the list.

The number of riders IS limited. You may or may not know, but the
Riding Clinic with Keith Code is the only one where reservations ARE
REQUIRED.

To cover costs of renting the riding facility where we will do the
riding drills coached by Keith Code and his instructors, insurance,
etc, a $20 fee will be charged that you can pay at the door.

I'll also need help big time, so let me know if you can help out that
day. I need people to lead groups, direct parking traffic, and do
registration.

Doc Wong Riding Clinic - Featuring Keith Code!
When: Sunday November 8, 2009 at 9 AM. We'll be done in the early
afternoon.
Where: We start at my clinic as usual
Ride routes, lunch and drilling location: (undisclosed for now)

Keith will first give a very special 2 hour lecture on keys to
improving your riding skill, gaining cornering confidence like never
before!

Then we will all ride (ride route confidential for now), arriving at
our riding site on a specific schedule. The drill he will be doing is
a "key" drill! From what I understand, there are only a hand-full of
riders that have passed this drill to perfection! Yes, you will be
coached by Keith Code and his highly trained instructors.

You will then have the opportunity to practice this technique and
getting
coached by Keith himself! Last time he did this it was great! My
riding improved markedly from the Keith's personal coaching.

Then we will continue our ride (route will not be the same route as
before)
and have lunch (destination not disclosed at this time).

It's hard to believe but true, let me reiterate:

Keith Code lectures on several vital and key factors in improving your
riding and improving your cornering confidence.
We go to an undisclosed destination to have him and his instructors
coach you in a special drill to improve your riding.
Then he coaches us on it so that we get it.
We go to lunch and continue the ride!

About Keith Code: He is the premiere riding coach, internationally
renowned!

He began coaching road racing in 1976. Since that time he has isolated
and
perfected techniques that are in common use today in motorcycling. He
has
instructed more riders at more tracks in more countries than anyone
else in
the world. Keith has been the coach for every American Superbike
Champion
from 1983 through 1992. He is the author of several well regarded
books and tapes on motorcycle riding techniques. Legendary riders such
as Wayne Rainey, Doug Chandler, Eddie Lawson and others have
considered Code's instruction instrumental in the success of their
careers!

There's no doubt in my mind and many others that Code is THE man when
it comes to the techniques and art of motorcycling!

He just released his new DVD, Twist of the Wrist 2 and it's a
phenomenal work of art and riding instruction. It's a must have.

All for free???!!! Well....almost. I need $20 per person to pay for
costs. Suffice to say Keith belives in what we are doing and the
purposes of the riding clinics. Read on below on what I need from you:

1. Learn a lot, increase your skills, ride better and safer.
2. Encourage your friends on the ideas I present in the Riding Clinics
about:
a. Know the symptoms of riding over your skill level.
b. Improve relations with neighbors and other users of the road
c. Learn how to ride in groups safer.

Ride street, ride track, ride dirt, trials.....ride.....well!

I went to this event and saw Buzz and his buddy there. The event started at 9:00, I got there at 7:30 to help as a volunteer. Over 100 motorcycles showed up. Keith Code spoke for an hour about adjusting speed and turning, the two things that can be done on a street motorcycle. There was a Q&A session and he was very good about taking on all questions. Except for one guy who asked about counter steering on a bicycle which he said he wasn't going to answer but did anyway. Then we did a steering drill with Keith and the four instructors he brought along. I think one of them was his son as they had the same last name. I was able to get a coaching session in with Keith and when I pulled up on my Hornet he gave it a look and said "cool." Yeah, that kind of made my day. I was volunteering and got to watch him up close and he did not give every bike a "cool" remark. I got to say there are some really noob riders on some really expensive bikes in the Bay Area. I met a this cool dude who's been riding for 6 months and was on his Duc 1098R which he bought two days prior. He couldn't turn it in the parking lot to save his life. He was even asking me about what tire pressure to use and I had to show him his own head stock sticker. Keith Code worked with him for 20 minutes and made a significant improvement. Motorcycle coaching makes a big difference so make an effort to attend any local workshops. Doc Wong was really cool and put in a lot of effort for the local motorcycle community. He brought a stage, a full audio system and put the whole thing together for only $20 a head. Not a bad deal. Sorry, no pics. Got any Buzz?

I waited around, but didn't actually get in on the drill. I asked, and they had spots for 100 riders in the clinic, and I was 30 on the wait list, and was toward the top. I think I heard there were approximately 200 riders there.

Even without riding, it was still pretty good, as we poached in on the tips that the instructors were giving other riders, and then found another parking lot to run our own drills.

I didn't take any pics, but my buddy did...
