Re: Looking for front brake lever.

The total cost was $420.00.
That includes clans no the carbs, synchronizing, and adjusting them. Plus I had new plugs put in..
Expensive yes, but worth it in my opinion. It really does run better...

UPDATE:

Picked the bike up last Friday. Wow! What a difference.
Replaced the plugs, cleaned, synced, & adjusted the carbs.
She runs better than the day I rolled her off the showroom floor.
No...

Re: Throttle cable adjuster.

EDIT:

Well the tank is a right bitch to get off and on.
Actually removing the tank only takes the removal of one bolt. The problem is in getting the hoses re-attached.
Wouldn't have been so bad...

Throttle cable adjuster.

After I got my bike back from the shop from having the carbs cleaned the throttle free play is a little too loose.
I know about the adjuster up near the throttle housing. That one is as tight as I...

Re: Looking for front brake lever.

Yep. I have looked at the aftermarket levers, but didn't find any I liked.
I just ordered a new one from my local shop.

It just really pisses me off. I am super diligent about the upkeep and...

Looking for front brake lever.

Put my bike up on the rear stand today to wash it.
Walked away to find something to listen to on my iPhone.
Heard something creaking, looked over, and the fricking stand broke!
Allowing my...

Re: Low end bog right off idle.

Picture is about a year old, but she looks exactly the same.
I can't post a pic right now, but I will asap.
Seat cowl came from David Silver Spares on England.

Re: Low end bog right off idle.

Filter was replaced last late fall. It's brand new.
I sprayed starter fluid around the boots while it was running. No leaks.

Low end bog right off idle.

My bike has always had a stutter right off idle up to around 2500 RPM's.
From 2500 to redline it rips like a banshee, no hesitation or flat spots. Just that annoying off idle bog.
If I crack the...

Re: URGENT! Engine Sag

Hope you get it fixed.

You need to be very careful you don't strip out the threads in the bolt holes. Don't try and start them at that angle. If you mess the threads up you'll just add to your...

Re: engine malfunction ? carbs?

My '06 does the same thing at anything under about 3500 RPM's, always has.

Don't try and ride it like a v-twin. An inline 4 likes to be wound up and let howl.

Re: New vibration in rear, 2006 599

A good way to ensure alignment is to measure from the center of the swing arm bolt, to the center of...

Re: Smelling like exhaust fumes on my Hornet 2005.

If you're using gas with an octane rating higher than 87 it will smell stronger too.
87 octane is what the manual recommends for these bikes, I have found no need to use anything else.

I would start by checking the output voltage, swap out for a new one if needed.
If not that check all the connections, then the regulator.
