Re: Intermittent Won't Start Problem - Only During Evenings
Bike fired up the next day and I rode it home without an event. Rode it again during the day after and again, no problems whatsoever. I'll pull the plugs the next time this happens and see if...

Re: Intermittent Won't Start Problem - Only During Evenings
I'll give new plugs a whirl and see if it changes anything. Currently, the bike is still stranded at my girlfriend's office outside. I had mentioned to her that the bike always fires up in the...

2004 Honda 599
Current mileage at 18k.
For the past year plus, there has been situations where the bike won't start, and acts very temperamental. And when I say temperamental, I mean literally....

Honda Grom 125 Headlight Swap
Has anyone attempted this swap or considered it? It appears to be a cheaper alternative to the LSL/Yamaha MT01 headlight swap that I know some folks have looked into. Based on my initial research...

Re: Headlight Mounting
FYI - ended up liberally applying PB Blaster to the screw, then drilling it out. The screw is a standard metric screw that I replaced with one from the local hardware store. Lesson to self - apply...

Re: To change or not to change...
I had the same dilemma
04 599 with around 8k miles, original rear tire- the pilot road 1. Still had easily another 4k miles on the tread, and I've always been a fan of the pilot road 1 (owned two...

Headlight Mounting
I removed the two bolts holding in the OEM headlight on the 04 599 this past weekend, and found it near impossible to reattach them. It appears that the internal nut that the bolt threads into is...

Battery Installation
Just got a new YUASA YTX7L-BS battery and tried to install it.
Not sure if it fits properly as it didn't seem to slide all the way into the slot with the terminals hooked up.
I get the feeling...

I left my etymotic er6i on a flight several years ago, and have mourned the loss of those ear buds for a good while. Probably the best sounding ear buds that could sneakily fit underneath a helmet....

Engine Whine - Vacuum Leak?
2004 599
There's a noticable engine whine when the engine is at idle, and the sound increases as the revs increase.
Additionally, the engine idle speed is lumpy and fluctuates in conjunction...

Re: Coolant Flush NEW
The coolant that came out of my 04 599 was nice and brown. Coolant probably wasn't changed at any time within the past 9 years.
I filled the radiator and reservoir with new coolant, and ran the...

Did the plugs on my 04 599 yesterday
Job is really easy, assuming you have the right tools.
The socket in the OEM tool kit is nice with the swivel function, which came in handy to remove plugs...

Came from a 2nd gen SV650S, so going from Vtwin to i4 is somewhat of a change. The SV650S...
