Re: 2004 Spun bearing on cylinder 2 Part it out or sell whole?

What color is it? I'd be interested in a tank and a tail if it's Asphalt.

Re: Throttle causes bike to cut out?? Please help! Video linked

What happens if you let the bike warm all the way up? Mine will cut off when cold even when I know the carbs are clean. If it still does it when it's warm and the choke is off then your idle jets...

Re: Aftermarket

What are you looking for? Performance upgrades? Looks change? Your most common options would be to change the mirrors and put on a different slip on.

Re: Running rough at partial throttle

Without hearing it I would say the sound is normal. Just the transmission spinning.

Does your bike idle with the choke off?

I crashed at my last track day. Kinda destroyed my confidence in riding. That was years ago and still recovering. Honestly the best thing for me would be another track day. Gotta get the bike...

If it were me I wouldn't bother fixing or parting out. You say most of the other components are fine...but what else is left? No one really wants 599 wheels or a swingarm from what I've seen.

Re: 2006 hornet 599 frame slider options - will cbr600 ones work?

I'm not sure what country you're in but there are generally plenty of options specifically for the 599.

I got these since I think they look better than just the giant delrin cylinders -...

Re: 2006 599 Upgrade.

Not positive but I don't think any forks are a direct swap.

Can't recall anyone adding EFI successfully. At that point it would probably be easier/cheaper to just buy a CBR and take off the...

Re: Part Availability?

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Most of the mechanical parts aren't too bad to find. The cosmetics are where you are going to run into issues - body panels, gauge cluster, etc.

Re: 2006 CB599 front end damage

I'm not an expert but to me it does not make sense that it doesn't fit.

Are you sure it's the wheel? And not some messed up forks from the crash?

A lot of people have swapped F3 wheels in. New bearings and seals needed I believe.

Re: Tips for Road Trip (Atlanta to Toronto) & Modification on 2004 Cb599 (Yellow)

I agree on skipping the seat cowl. You'll need some saddle bags (just get some soft ones that will drape across the rear seat) and a tail bag. I'll see if I can find a picture of my 599 loaded up....
