Re: Nitron Rear Shock doesn't fit '06 599

Here's a little more detail. I actually looked up the OEM part no's for the UK models between 1998 and 2006 as well as the 2004 and 2006 US models. There are a number of variants in the UK range as...

Nitron Rear Shock doesn't fit '06 599

Wasn't sure if I should post in the "comprehensive suspension thread" - now largely stale - or start a new topic. Elected the later. I recently ordered the Nitron's basic R1 rear shock for my 2006...

Re: aftermarket exhaust options for 2006 hornet 599?

Here's one that I think a lot of folks like - made by Mivv.

Another option, the GPR Deeptone. I have it...

Re: Coolant Flush NEW

Any silicate free antifreeze can be substituted. Look for "silicate free" on the label. In Albania look for "Silikat pa pagesė," - or so says Google translate.

Re: new to the forum

New stock bars can be had at Partzilla for $50. I've read that Renthal medium road bars are fairly close to stock. Renthal ultra lows are popular with those that don't like the height of the...

Re: Abba Superbike Stand and Renntec Rear Rack

The rack is attached using the four mounting holes for the grab handles and comes with longer bolts and spacers. Probably a five minute job to remove it and replace the original bolts. This picture...

Abba Superbike Stand and Renntec Rear Rack

I really like my new Abba Superbike Stand. I also finally got around to purchasing a Renntec Rear Rack. It's a pretty good design given that Honda didn't give them much to work with with on the...

Re: New Guy..

Sorry about your regulator/rectifier issue. Your exhaust is a GPR Deeptone. At purchase, the end can comes with two baffles installed - one at the front and one at the exit. Either or both are...

Re: Another FNG here with an '06.

Over at hondahornet.co.uk there's a post from 370steve saying the following non-hornet items work with the hornet -

CBR600F3 front wheel
CBR900RR rear wheel (need to change the bearings/bearing...

Re: Another FNG here with an '06.

It's the whole fender - a lot of plastic for your money. I've never been a fan of fender eliminators so I approve the plan of replacing the fender. Service Honda has been great for the 20 or more...

Re: Another FNG here with an '06.

Find the OEM exhaust cover and anything else your budget allows at servicehonda.com. Exhaust cover is $90, headlight brackets $50 each. Looks like your damaged mirrors might be from an Aprilia...

Re: Who Here Has Owned A 599 and a VFR?

A few years back I purchased a 4th gen (96). It had about 20,000 miles on it when I bought it - still looked and ran like new. Mine was all stock with the exception of bar risers. The aging...

Re: One Costly Oil Change

Here's my thought about the 2004 CA version headers. In Europe and the UK they used part number 18150MBZC50 in all four years it was sold there.

The muffler was part number 18300MBZC50 for all...

Re: One Costly Oil Change

If you're exploring a new OEM header - I see that the header for the California version of the 2004 599 is available for about $320 from both servicehonda.com and partzilla. Here's the part number:...

Re: Hollowing out cats?

You're correct - replacing the stock muffler with a slip on eliminates the catalyst. I like the looks of the stock exhaust though I've replaced mine with a GPR deeptone which was relatively...

Re: Hollowing out cats?

There is a catalyst at the front of the muffler portion of the 2006 model - both CA and non-CA versions. It lives under the bulge in midpipe portion of the muffler. I think it would be a hell of a...

Re: Headlight bracket is broken

A little further checking indicates that the headlight stay is fitted between the top and bottom fork yokes. So - It can't be removed without removing the top yoke.

Removing the front wheel...

Re: Anyone dealt with ProBolt before?

I've used these folks and liked them. No kit for 599/Hornet - but they have all the pieces.
