Re: Helmet noise.

I use earplugs. The foam disposibles come in an indistrial package for cheap and that's the way I buy em.

But here's a note to ya. I have a Nolan N104, pretty good helmet. Relatively quiet, and...

Re: I have managed to get my carbs so out of sync that it's unrideable

One won't do it, but you can do it with two. The old CBX six cyl you just about have to do it with two, or three because trying to get six to play together is a pain.

So, what you do is hook up...

Re: ready for a viffer... but should I look around?

I think I'd be up for an ST1100 off the used market. Cheap, reliable, and shaft drive.

Re: Spark - Plugs, Wires and Coils!

Lost in all of this is how the ignition parts and settings work in different situations and for how long. That's the big issue.

Take modern day cars. They must be able to pass emissions testing...

Re: Anyone have experience with the old 84-86 VF500F?

The secret to the old school R/R's is to have a very nice, fresh, fully charged battery, on a tender if you aren't going to ride for a while. Not that it keeps them from failing, but it does help.

Re: Changing cams ?

The 599 always seems to get a bad rap about the ole "torque" thing but if you compare the dyno chart from an SV650 to the 599, they aren't as far apart as one would think. For an inline 4, the 599...

2000 Honda CR-V EX 5spd, Michelin X-Ice2 tires in winter, 162K miles, a tick of cancer on one fender but outside of that looks good.
