Default Overheating problems

Hi all,

I have a 1998 UK Hornet 600. Recently it has been getting near the red on the temperature gauge and the fan has not been kicking in. I have checked the fuse and it is fine, replaced the fan motor and fan switch with items that have been tested to see if they work and still no fan.

The fan will come on when earthed but only on the exhaust and certain bolts round the engine. Maybe an earthing issue?? I don't know much about the electronic / wiring side of things and was hoping someone could shed some light on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm running out of ideas

Am I right in saying that if I take the fan switch wire and earth it to the side of the radiator that the fan should come on? Every component in the circuit has been tested and works. Any info would be appreciated

I had a similar problem: http://www.honda599.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14129

Hopefully your solution is equally simple!
