Default What bikes have y'all moved on to?

I was wondering what my fellow Hornet riders have moved on to. It's hard to believe that I bought my '06 eleven years ago. I bought a 2016 Africa Twin pretty much ten years to the date of the 599. I'm keeping the 599, it was my first brand new vehicle. I had it out yesterday and today after not riding it for about a year. It feels so small and nervous compared to the AT but I think I rekindled a love affair.

I had my 919 for the longest time. I don't know if any bike will last as long in my garage.

It was a wonderful bike but I don't miss the stink which came from a rich bike with high pipes.

I eventually traded for a Bolt which was wonderful but the lack of braking power was the deal breaker.

Then I got an XSR900 which is a crazy beast. Insane torque from a featherweight bike.

I still have the XSR but I also picked up a CTX700 this spring. It's the perfect daily commuter. It's as dull as a minvan but gets 70mpg, has nice sized lockable side bags and heated grips. It's the perfect weapon in traffic. The DCT shifts for me so my clutch hand never gets tired. An awesome bike in its own way.

Cool! I'm thinking of redoing the suspension on my 599. Cartridges and a good rear shock just for fun. People still like seeing a 599 at the ride-ins because they've always been kind of rare, and they're rarely in as good a shape as mine.

"Small and nervous" is exactly what my 599 felt like after riding a 1200GS for a week long trip. On the flip side, the GS felt lumbering and steady in comparison, and I bounced off the rev limited looking for more power constantly, even though it had similar power-to-weight as the 599.

I highly recommend the cartridge emulators in the forks. I've put the same set of emulators in two 599s now (my original and it's replacement), and based on the before-and-after feel on two occasions, the improvement is real.

Kind of jealous of the R NineTs and the XSR900. I'd love to have both. The XSR900 is what I was going to buy when I went to get a new bike, but I didn't want to wait for it and thought a V4 would be sweet, so I got a '14 VFR800 instead. No regrets, just never happy with one bike.

2006 BMW K1200R for a few years. Went bikeless for a while when we lived in Chicago. Now back in NC, and ride a 2013 Ducati Diavel. It's a blast.
