I don't think he has filters and those aren't stock carbs. Pretty sure our carbs work best with an airbox.

I intend to find out for a fact.

I always thought my settings were just slightly rich. So just now, I took off the snorkle and it seems to run even smoother now... I will test it tomorrow at the mid and high end to see how it goes...

Well, little update... Guys at the shop changed the settings so it matches Cychotic's one (since we're almost in the same area) and now they are testing the bike without the snorkel... don't have a K&N filter yet, should I def get it?

It depends on if you want to keep the jet kit setting like mine. If you wanted more MPG, I do suggest going back to stock jetting. Especially if you were happy with it before the jet kit.

I guess I didn't understand why those guys told you that you will get better MPG with a jet kit. That is definitely not true. I only suggested my settings to you because you said you got less than 70 on a tank and I definitely got more than that.

Are these guys dyno tuning it?

Old post, but glad I found it!

Haven't ridden my 599 for 2 years and paid for it. One of the carbs was gunked up, so I took it apart to clean it and figured I'd install the dynojet kit while it's apart. I will update (if anyone still cares, haha) once it's back together and running.

2004 599
Modifications: Arrow headers, Arrow slip on, K&N Filter, stock air box (with snorkel)
Elevation: sea level
Typical Weather: Spring/Summer/Fall riding (12-32 degrees Celsius)
Kit: Dynojet 1199
Main Jet: DJ098 (two different recommendations by Dynojet: went with DJ098 )
Needle: #3 (recommended #3 by one Dynojet tech)
Pilot Jet: 2.5 (recommended 2-1/2 turns by one Dynojet tech)

*Update*
Finally got the bike back on the road. Ended up using the settings I posted originally (never heard back from the other Dynojet tech).

Haven't really gotten a chance to open her up yet, but she is running perfectly! No hesitation, very smooth, and definitely seems like it is running colder than before (which makes sense).

Overall very happy with the carb clean and jet kit. I don't think it will really increase the power at all, but I think it is running as well as it ever has since I've owned it.

How did the dynojet upgrade work out for you?

Hey, edited my post above. Bike is running great!
I saw your other thread about carb tuning. If you have the same dynojet jets in your bike I would definitely recommend the settings I posted.
