Default 599 questions from arkansas

Hello friends.

I just bought my first 599 today, it's an 06 with almost 6k miles. I just had a question about the bike. Around 5k rpms to about 6.5 or 7k the vibration of the engine seems to get more intense\rough\ choppy.... I don't know the best way to explain it other than its different from my old bikes. I saw a video where a guys did the same thing. So is this pretty normal?

Mine is more buzzy in that RPM range. I wouldn't say rough or choppy by any means though.

It's pretty buzzy in that range. But I also wouldn't say rough either though.

.

Yep, the rev range you describe is right for a tingle or two. But as it's a new bike to you, it wouldn't hurt spending half an hour walking around checking the fasteners. Peace of mind, and all that. Even giving the bike a hand-wash should help identify if anything obvious is loose. And you get a shiny bike as a bonus.

On my bike I had a cracked seat cowl that I did not notice. But it vibrates a lot. I can feel the tingle in my butt. But a test drive without the seat cow land it is quieter and smoother.

The last vibe I had on my bike, actually it was really a rattle, appeared to be coming from somewhere around the front of the bike but I couldn't find it. When I finally tracked it down it was from a loose passenger foot-peg.

Thanks for the feedback!! I'm not to worried about it at the moment, but I'm taking it in for a mechanic check up next week. Not that it will do me any good at this point lol
