Default Long Way Round/Down

I know this has been brought up in the past on this forum, but I just finished watching "The Long Way Round" and "The Long Way Down" on Netflix streaming and I had to say what a fantastic show! Really inspired me to get out on some longer trips on my own bike (keeping to the asphalt of course)!

If you haven't heard about them they're two documentaries made by Ewan McGregor and a friend while they ride around the world having incredible experiences.

Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-0uBcnmE2M

Charlie Boorman was fairly impoverished when he and his mate came up with the idea of the original bike trip. He'd struggled to get acting jobs (he actually had a bit part in Deliverance - his Dad being the film director Alan Boorman) - and had been scraping a living as a house decorator, his dyslexia holding him back a bit. He's a darling of the UK bike industry now and has made maybe another half dozen bike travel series if you liked Long Way Round. I've no idea what happened to the McGregor guy.

VISOR DOWN WHEN REFUELING IN UNFAMILIAR TERRITORY... ALWAYS.
- My #1 take away from LWA.

Found Around more entertaining than Down but both are fun to watch. But for a small lotto win, think I'd like to give it a go.

Few weeks ago watched "Charged" on Netflix, was interesting, educational, funny and had always wondered what happened to that guy who tried to design a new American MotoGP bike.

Made me actually want an "electric" MC.

Down felt like they were too rushed. Unfortunate as it could have been really amazing.

I'll be adding "Charged" to my list.

You should check out "Faster" and "Fastest" - They're about MotoGP as well.

Yep! Watched Charge this weekend. Pretty good. And we dig the Fast/Faster flicks.

Yes, Rossi... always having fun. The CEO of our company is from a town right next door to where Rossie grew up (and still lives), says he remembers him as a kid just running around. And even now when he goes home to visit, can still run into Rossi just kicking around and hanging out with friends and family.

The movie that make me want a motorcycle...

Looking back, not exactly the greatest movie ever but as a kid it was.

I recently viewed and liked Long Way Round and Down. I thought the first one was better. I also thought it was amusing that they rode from Northern Scotland to the southern tip, but they had their bikes shipped to Scotland.
