Default 1st attempt at riding with a gopro

This is the first time using my new GoPro. I didn't know anything about filming or editing GoPro videos. The top of the helmet mount seems too high and often doesn't look far enough ahead. Will try some different mounts in the future. Also, some parts I could have edited to reduce the time. Well, I've seen more boring videos on youtube.

I keep on thinking I should get a gopro. The new session one is tiny and looks rather tempting.

Nice video. I just picked up a gopro this past summer thinking I would use it all the time. I did at first but it faded. Still used it when riding with others though. I too tried the top of the helmet mount first and decided I didn't like it. It didn't help that I got tons of comments from my family about looking like a teletubby in my shadow. Lol. I didn't care for all the movement in the final video. I spend a lot of time checking and double checking what I'm doing. If you're not yet aware, there is an app for your phone that will show a real time feed from the camera, though slightly delayed. It helps with making sure you'll get the shot you want before you're out on the road. Also let's you dump the videos directly to your phone over private wifi. I have switched to a handlebar mount and am happy with the shot other than not being able to see the dash. I'll be trying a chest mount next.

Anyone thinking about picking one up, I would say do it. The shots I've gotten of a great ride on a beautiful day were well worth the price. The shots of my friends riding together have been great. I was forced to get rid of a bike this summer, wife said so lol, and I'm happy to have sold it to a buddy who has been off 2 wheels for about 8 years after a nasty spill. Not only have I chronicled his triumphant return to living life fully, but I got to see my old bike from a more appreciative view. This bike that I had gotten years ago as a pile and brought back to life but never got to see anything other than the dash in action was now running free it seemed.

My only regrets in the purchase are that two weeks later I discovered 360 video (If you haven't yet, go to YouTube now. I'll wait.......... Back? Crazy right?) While I would like to have a 360 camera, I don't think I'd get rid of my gopro for it anymore. When I discovered it I had wished I had gotten one instead. I have also learned now about the newer garmin cameras (virb x and xe) with built-in Gps and telemetry sensors that let you overlay all kinds of data to your video. I've read where gopro is working on this but I fear it will be on the next model and not something that can be added to older models. Sorry for rambling. Again nice video. I think you got the rabbit though.

I used to run a camera on my helmet, but stopped. It creates a concentrated impact point in the event you smack your noggin... I only run them on the bike now after someone pointed that out to me.

I really wanted to hate it, but that was cool. Curious about the price.

I have a few hobby grade RC Helicopters. The technology has gone so far.

Damn! That's pretty cool. Why didn't I invent that? I mean if I were imaginative and smart enough.

I really enjoyed listening to the sound you're getting from your pipes. It's a good gruffle .
